One curiosity, aren't Echhi and Hentai the same thing? The reason: the word "Hentai" starts with the letter "H". Japanese, most of them can't pronounce the letter "H" properly, so thats why they say "ecchi", meaning the letter "H", the first letter for Hentai.

That's not true. Japanese has many phonetic sounds beginning with the h consonant. "hana," "haru," "hasuki" are very common words and they begin with "h."

It is French which has the unpronounced "h." The word "histoire" is pronounced like "istoire." But that's off topic.

As for the difference between hentai and ecchi, they're two different words in Japanese. "Hentai" literally means "weird" or "strange," and you can figure out how it relates to the genre of explicit material yourself. The word "ecchi" is etymologically derived from the Japanese pronounciation of the letter "h" in hentai, but it's not because the Japanese can't pronounce the consonant sound. Semantically, hentai is explicit material that shows full frontal nudity and oftentimes sexual acts, whereas ecchi is just perverted pictures of a less explicit nature.
