I think this is my top action anime ever. I'm a real romance-type of anime fan myself but Read Or Die just takes my breath away.

Stunning visuals, and magnificent soundtrack. With character designs by Taraku Uon, who also designed for Onegai Teacher. And also a powerful soundtrack by Iwasaki Taku, you can't ask for more.

So far, I've only watched the OVA. I'm eager to watch the TV as it's a direct sequel to the OVA.

I'm a romantic comedy fan myself, but the one part of the R.O.D. oav that i did see was spectacular... i will get the whole of it eventually. And being a bit of a paper fanatic myself, I found The Paper's "superpower" to be really neat and unique.

Well, not so unique once you get to the TV series, where everyone seems to be a paper master! Hehehe...

I really am enjoying the series, although it seems to be moving in a strange direction, and I don't really like what they have done with Yoriko's character in R.O.D. TV.

Just a side note... has anyone noticed how much Yoriko Readman looks like Yoriko Nokaido from You're Under Arrest???

Indeed, I've seen several reviews that the TV isn't as good as the OVA in general. But nonetheless the anime is fantastic.

Yes of course, quite a resemblance, ne? :) It's only slightly similar.
It's not surprising, as many characters are like Yomiko, just got to find the anime which have them.

Hehehe... they are so alike I subconsciously wrote "YoRiko Readman" instead of "YoMiko Readman." Maybe they were seperated at birth... Yomiko Readman can control paper and Yoriko Nokaido can control rumors. I only have 5 out of 8 DVDs in the TV series so far (since that is all that have been released in the US). I'm kind of dissappointed in the direction they've taken Mr. Joker... I really liked him in the OVA.

Miss Deep has an really cool special ability in the OVA she's so cool, i also really like the character Wendy! she's a bit clumsy but its a cute clumsy!

Oh man I really wanna see ROD. Got both of the soundtracks and the single on MP3. I have to say that I'm a fan of Iwasaki Taku. The music from ROD OVA was absolutely breathtaking.
It's amazing, I wish they'd release the music on score or sheet music.

I do hope their volume 7 with the artbox is going to be a big artbox for housing all of the 7 DVDs, unlike that flimsy book-like boxset.

is it true that Miss Deep returns in the TV series? but she died in the OVA didnt she? i would guess most likely it is her clone sister. Can anyone clarify this?

It is the clone sister. Not that big a deal, considering they were both clones :)

You were warned...


The clone sister (the evil one, who survived the OVA and is in the TV series) suffered a head injury at the end of the OVA. You're lead to believe that she either has amnesia or brain damage, and forgets all the evil stuff (and almost all of her past). Therefore, she is now a good clone.

ah yes, where was I? ROD-TV seems to me to be shaping up quite nicely, all I have to wait for now is the last disk with artbox...
I knew I'd enjoy this series, just how much I would I wasn't prepared for...

It's a great series.The visual,music,& story line is very good & keeps me entained & interested in the show.I really like that Yomiko & her partners in in the tv series.:D
