Do you think that they will fit the Ah! My Goddess movie into the TV series's storyline?
the movie would make a great finale!

Not so much a finale as a side story. My best guess would place the movie around chapter 139 of the manga. Sora is chief of the Autoclub, but Keiichi is still working on his second foreign language. Peorth is not in child form either.... so that would be my best guess.

Besides, I'm holding out for a whole new movie for the finale, which I hope will not come for a long time!

i dont think i've gotten that far in the manga yet, so im afraid im not sure what you said there. But a new movie would be a smashing idea. The Ah! My Goddess story definitely deserves to have more movies i would say at least three more new ones!

It would be interesting to see if the movie is incorporated into the new series, at the least it would help the hole synergization thing, plus we might get to Morgan as a character - maybe

that would be interesting if Morgan and Celestin are brought back into the story!

Well, the producer (the same guy produced the OVA, Movie, and TV series) has said that Morgan was one of his favorite characters, so it would not surprise me...

it really surprises me, with the huge popularity of the Oh My Goddess! manga and OVA, that it takes so long for them to release a new TV series and as of yet only one movie is made. Ah! My Goddess deserves so much more!

and also don't forget, the north american releases of the manga are six years behind from the japanese stuffs.
Back to the main topic, I always figured that the movie portrayed the "end" of all this (although it doesn't quite end, its more open-ended). But maybe they'd like to give Morgan a happy ending of some sort... and not bring back that Celestine fella (wierd guy!)

well, in the movie Morgan did kind of get her happy ending. Morgan found the error of her ways and have decided to guard the judgement gate and tell future couples the story of Belldandy and Keiichi on how they overcome the gate.
Gosh! i didnt know that the english manga is 6 years behind the Japanese one! why dont they speed up!

I would not call that a happy ending
forever telling people that only one love was ever successful and it wasn't even yours

well, at least she found the error of her ways and have found a new aim in life! that i think is a good thing compared to the suffering she had before.

Most anime movies are side stories that don't clearly fit into any of the manga or series continuity. This is because the majority of them have different writers. The writer wants to either tell his alternate version of the story, or basically animate a fanfic that for the most part matches the feel and overal ambiance of the series, but doesn't necessarily fit anywhere in the timeline. I think *all* of the DBZ movies are like that. There's only two I can think of that actually fit into the timeline of a series: the first is End of Evangelion, which retells the last two episodes of the series from a different perspective... even that may have an alternate ending (depending on your perspective). The second is the Cowboy Bebop movie, which happens between episodes 22 and 23, I believe. Or maybe 23 and 24. But the episodic nature of that show is extremely easy to fit a movie into.

another example is the Love Hina movies, ok some of you may argue that they are OVAs but i think Christmas movie and Spring movie specials fit in nicely with the flow of the series!

OVA stands for Original Version Anime, though there are also other interpretations, you might come across somewhere that say it is for Original Video Anime.
Another one is OAV = Original Anime Version.

Hope this helps!
