Who *doesn't* like the spunky redhead with attitude who's kickin' butt and takin' names in Evangelion? Well, okay, a lot of people. ^_^;; But at least she has some personality, unlike some other characters. *cough*Rei*cough* Opinions?

Asuka provides real contrast to Rei and makes the series more interesting through their interaction with each other. Shinji provides a bit of a middle ground. However in defense of Rei Ayanami i always seem to have tendencies to the quiet loner type in animes maybe its something from my childhood?

Asuka is very outgoing yes, and i like her that way. but i also like Rei... she's more thoughtful (and i think she's prettier than Asuka... ^^)

Yeah, Rei is definitely needed in there for balance. ^_^; I actually do get to like Rei once she shows a little defiance. "I'm not a doll."

well rei is by a wiiiiiiiiiiiide margin the most boring anime-charakter EVER...But Asuka sucks too (at least she shows that she is alive)

mmmmm..... yes, Misato rocks indeed!

I'm a big fan of Misato, too. ^_^ She is by far the most capable of all the Evangelion cast, even if she is attracted to a complete lowlife. But hey, I think any girl who watched her father's skin melt off and then woke up in the middle of a sea of LCL might be a little screwed up later in life. :P

Oh dear poor Rei! it seems she's not that popular with everyone!
However i think deep down she is the most good of the characters, the original Rei (before she was cloned) sacrificed herself to save the others by making a suicide run with an N2 mine to destroy the enemy angel.
On Misato, she is probably the most "normal" of the characters with strength and weaknesses and her own desires.

uh... papa... you're gonna have to see the ani again because... the Rei who sacrificed herself was already a clone of the little Rei that uhm.... i forgot that doctor's name... well the little Rei was killed by that doctor's mother... and actually... Rei is the clone of Shinji's mother... and she is also used as the dummy plug's mind... @_@ oh i'm getting confused all of a sudden!

ummmmmm...I like Asuka..shes pretty cool for that kind of EVA pilot......

Heh, yeah. She's supposed to *be* German, but her seiyuu wasn't an expert at the language. ^_^;

in the dubbed version Asuka speaks very good german, i remember this particular scene where she and Shinji are in her EVA. Asuka have set her EVA to german but all Shinji could say is strudel and so she set it back to Japanese!

what dubbed version do you mean ?
(in the japanese version shinji said : "Baumkuchen" ^^)
