He was not the only one......8(

I have watched the anime now, and it really impressed me. The story is so deep and drags out many points from the Christian belief. The ending was so sad, and I haven't really gotten over it yet, but it is one thing that still makes me wonder, what happen to Chrno in the end? You saw that he slept in with Rosette, but He wasn't buried and only Rosette had a gravestone.

i think the saddesst anime ever was Air (TV) then chrono crusade..

this series made me so unbelievably sad :( i don't think i've ever cried so hard over an anime series before chrno crusade...i liked it overall, but because of the heart-wrenching ending...i have no interest in watching this series again...

Yeah! Sad end:(, but how are you going to finish then?

Yes CC is a very dramatic and saddening anime.. and I must admit that it was after watching it that I started looking for some more uplifting animes to watch and found AMG.... So even though I don't think I could bring myself to watch CC again (no more crying please) it is one of my all time faves....

Yea, Chrno Crusade was indeed very very sad and dramatic.
I almost cried at the end of the series.

The weird part is that at the end. Isn't Chrno a demon, and that demons don't die... just like that crazy demon guy (forgot the name) that calls himself the alpha-omega.
That demon guy is the same as Chrno, no horns, but still able to move around... especially at the end of the series, Chrno was supposedly had killed the demon guy fully, but the demon guy came back to life a few years later, as the angel guy saw him walking.

I know that Chrno had took all of Rosette's life force, but when Rosette died, he shouldn't had died
Just like the previous "holy mother" girl that he was suppose to kill, but Chrno only goes into a sleeping mode.
I am wondering if that at the end, where you see Chrno sleeping, was he truly dead or just goes back into sleeping mode...
Or...
Chrno had killed himself right after Rosette died.

I'm not 100% sure about this as its just a theory... I think that the animators wanted to have a more 'dramatic' ending than the Manga did. So they killed off a few more characters than just Rossette vs what happened in the manga. If you read the manga it appears that Rossette lives a quite a bit longer before passing on and gets to see Chrono one final time. In the anime I think they wanted to show Chrono cared for Rossette so much that he passed on when she did.. not letting her leave the realm of the living alone. Still her final words and fear in her final moments in the anime were very dramatic. But I also think that the animators didn't want to totally depress people so they added that whole part about Rossettes soul not being bound in Hell for making a deal with a Demon whereas in most Christian beliefs her soul would have been.
