The production for the third series of popular anime "School Rumble" has been decided as "School Rumble Third Semester". It will be released as an OAV (original animation video) included only in the first press limited edition bonus of its comic book volumes 21 and 22.

"School Rumble" is a school love comedy anime based on the manga series by Jin Kobayashi. Its first season was aired from October 2004 to March 2005, and the second season was shown from April 2006 to September 2006 at TV Tokyo Corporation related stations. The original manga is a popular series started from 2002 on the Weekly Shonen Magazine and still continuing, and has been translated in various languages such as English, French, Chinese, and Korean, attracting many fans overseas as well.

The "Third Semester" will differ from its previous first and second anime seasons, for it will be released as an OAV instead of the television series. The first episode is planned to be released together with the first press limited edition of the comic book volume 21 on July 2008, and the second episode with the first press limited edition of volume 22 on September 2008.

The anime production staffs will be the same members who handled its first season anime, but other details are still yet to be decided. When more details are arranged, it will be updated on the Official Site that opened last fall.
The work "School Rumble" went through active media franchise such as novels, video game, stageplay, and CDs, and resulted in capturing a wide range of fans. The third season in OAV series hopes to pull in more popularity for the future.
