If you have never heard of this show...well... SHAME ON YOU! ^,^ It's been the talk of the town, sort of speak, when I see how often that name has popped up on forums and the like. Mind you, I've seen this series before the hype. But now that I'm sorta getting back to BAF - I might as well share some of the "wisdom" I gathered during my absence.
SO! Ouran High School Host Club is a funny, sweet, FUNNY romantic anime that centers around the members of, you guessed it, a host club. Now, what is this host club? And more precisely, what is Ouran's host club?
In the words of the Papa/Leader/King of the host club: "Ouran private acadamy is defined by one, prestigious families, and two, wealth. And prosperous people have much time on their hands. Therefore, this Ouran Host Club is about these handsome guys that have time giving hospitality to these lovely ladies that also have time, and profit off of them. "
Basically it's a group of handsome, charismatic young men who shamelessly flirt and seduce young woman. With a lot of success. Upon this group, Haruhi stumbles one faithfull day, as she tries to find a quiet place to study and thus ends up in the Third Piano Room. She's a special student, meaning that in truth she is very poor, but due to hard work and high intelligence, she received a scholarship for the fabulous institute. Due to... "circumstances", she becomes the club's "dog". Seeing as how she looks very boy-like, they all think she's a boy. Again, certain things happen; and now suddenly the entire host club wants her to join them in being a host, and does basically everything to hide the fact that she's a girl; both for the clubs success, as simply for the fact that they adore her.
It's a highly adorable anime (and manga, although I haven't read that one); with a funny perspective on what we would call "normal" life. If you're not offended by slight yaoi, surprisingly insightful and complex characters (especially for such a funny anime) and lot's of fluff and drama (in a funny way); then you must see it!
