except that Kyo have to deal with sword demons and have very cool power moves with killer red eyes while kenshin has to deal with demons of his past, very cool speed moves and killer cross scar :)

No he is not a demon. But he seems to created from a swordsman, Mibu Kyoshiro, using his evil side. They had a duel in the middle of a battlefield and got defeatded by Kyoshiro who later imprisoned kyo soul into his own body and seal kyo's body away. And yeah he welds a long sword, called Muramasa.The sword is supposed to be a demonic sword.
