When it was dark and foggy, I used to snap a lightstick to turn on and threw it around the yard in the fog. all you see is a green light flying through the fog. I did this when I was younger. it was fun to do.

That sounds cool. Too bad there is never fog in Hawaii. All we get is this vog (volcanic smog), and it is very rare. But generally what I do with those lightsticks is rave with them. (Or hand it off to other people and see them try to rave). The coolest lightsticks I have ever seen were actual replicas of star wars lightsabers. Expensive replicas at my local card shop. One they brought it out, turned out the lights and the owner let us swing them around. It was awesome...nothing like those $10 you find at Toys R Us.

I love glow sticks on Hlloween! I dress up in them when i take my 3 lttle sisters out for trick or treating. they are great cause everyone can see you. Did I mention I dress as a with every year, so I feel all powerful with my glow sticks!!

Actually one time one of my friends, Mike, took a glow stick, cracked it open and stuck some on his tongue, it was so gross! He said it tasted acidic and it actually made his tongue glow! I doubt that is healthy though ^-^'

i also hear that nightsticks are used by police armed entry teams (like SWAT) to light up rooms prior to making an entry!

Really? then why not just use a flashlight ^-^? i woder which is handier flashlight or glow stick?

glowstick "juice" was used for predator blood in the predator movie, I have several large ones in my vehicle emergency kit. they were neat for lighting up a cooling pool outside a sauna and chalet we had a party at as well, nice to rinse off the steam in a cold brook.

Huh? Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't nightsticks just those black side-handled baton things that swat/riot control/police/security guards use to smack people on the head? But I'm probably wrong...

And of course poliece use flashlights. Remember in HalfLife, how you could activate the flashlight on the front of your shotgun? I'm sure poliece use those too...But you want to know what's better than a flashlight? A flashbang! (Just don't look into the light, and cover your ears). I wish I had a few of those to throw around...but I digress.

i think the more correct term would be "lightsticks", they are the green glowing plasticky rods that you see ppl waving about in concerts etc.
lightsticks are a convenient way for entry teams to light up a room without having to constantly point a flashlight into a particular area. Entry teams "clear" rooms one by one, they probably use lightsticks to mark up cleared rooms in teh dark.

oh i see ^-^ Don't the also use that glowy tape? However my favourite lightstick is pink and orange ^-^! green is over used. The funny ones are the ones you can get in the shape of over sized glasses, or strange looking head peices. Imgaine being in the dark and out of no where these huge glasses appear in front of you? Its actually entertaining to see the reactions you get ^-^

Ravers also like to spin glow sticks around while dressing like babys and listening to horrible techno music that slowly destroys your brain

Daijoubou! we all have our own tastes and preferences in music. Personally im a real fan of anime music, but i really dont like "bad boy/girl" stuff like rap or punk or rock etc. though i suppose there are exceptions, cant think of any right now! ^^'

I concur on the greatness of lightsticks oh yes...
for kicks cut them into pices and poot them into your sling shot. they look cool
