I was really shocked to have read this,
it's real article titles "Illegal Music Downloaders To Face Internet Ban" of http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/general_music_news/illegal_music_downloaders_to_face_internet_ban.html

it talks about the association of the internet providers to ban users that are caught of illegal downloads, music and vids i think..
although it's not yet passed, and it's only in the uk.
but im worried if some countries get encourage of the idea.. damn..

there are benefits, but mostly discouraging turns..

Hmmmm not good news for me ¬_¬ ...... though i don't know what other peoples ISPs in other countries say, but in there terms and conditions they already note that if you download illegal things that you will have your access terminated, BUT they don't enforce it as they would rather have the customers money.

It depends if this goes through or not but i'm sure there will be away to stop ISPs from knowing what you are downloading easily, Transport encryption already masks torrent downloading so it looks like it is a normal download.

This mite not work but renaming the file you are downloading, the uploader would have to name the torrent different such as "Hello file" so then i think the only way an ISP can know if that file is illegal is to intercept it and check it manually, but that shouldn't be feasible.

Certainly there will be workarounds, but I can't say it bugs me all that much. I pay for my stuff.

(For those who might try to pin me on downloading season 2 episodes to take caps, they weren't copyrighted in the states yet:p)

I don't think we have to worry about that in the States (at least not yet). Courts have traditionally protected citizens from this level of interference.

Mostly all that I download is music from bands and labels that don't support the RIAA, so this doesn't concern me one bit. :bounce:
