anyone of you know about this? I'm not sure if this is the real english title(i saw it in TV). It is a story about things that are going in highschool. Actually, i watched this in the TV this morning and i guess it is a love-type story.

yes i do know about it! but i havent seen it yet, i've just ordered the boxset!
the Japanese name for this anime is Kare Kano and the english name is, as you pointed out, His and Her Circumstances!

It is a great anime, but the manga is much better. You can find the manga under the name "Kare Kano".

The problem with the anime is that they made it faster than the manga, so it only goes so far. They also do a lot of "The story so far..." scenes and even whole episodes are recap so they could stretch the series out longer, but it is still a good series.

just try to go easy on the spoilers! i've not got my copy of the DVD yet! on the other hand this thread wont be much good if u cant discuss what goes on in teh anime! maybe i'll just stay out of this one for the time being! ^^' or then again maybe not.

I've heard alot about this series & Strongly thinking about ordering it.What I seen of it it is like a romantic comedy.

Well, keep in mind it is made by Gainex, so don't expect all of the characters to be 100% emotionally stable. Definitely read the manga, because the anime cuts off around volume 10 of the manga (14 was just released a few weeks ago).

made by Gainax huh,...., KeiichiK1 why do you say that becos its from Gainax that the characters are so and so? do they specialise in emotionally unstable characters or something? sorry just that im the type that dont really look in too much about the anime companies, i like that animes themselves! ^^

but i always thought of Mahoromatic as being a light hearted funny comedy, except for maybe the last few episodes of season 2.

Mahoromatic was, for the most part.

There was always that reminder of death at the end of each episode, "Mahoro stops functioning in X days."

Still, most of the episodes were light hearted and fun, which was great and I wish Gainex would do more of that, because, in my opinion Mahoromatic is their best work, especially if you leave off the last episode (Note: Please don't bombard me with posts on the genius on NGE...)

Just because something is lighthearted doesn't mean it can't have a theme. Watch it again, keeping in mind the two themes I mentioned... you'll see that they influence a lot of aspects of the show.

They're more blatent about it in His and Her Circumstances. I'm trying to avoid specifics on it because I don't want to spoil it for you.

i'll try to keep what u said about Mahoromatic in mind the next time i watch it, since im still to see the original Japanese version for it.

Daijoubou! me not going to pester you with comments about the genius of NGE! NGE is a very good series but i dont think its as good as Mahoromatic. Also i think Akira is rather overrated, it get heralded as a masterpiece but im afraid it doesnt really interest me in any special way compared to other animes. Of course to me Ah! My Goddess will always be the best anime of all!

I've got three that I can't really seperate out and say "this one is my favorite of all time."

my top two is definitely Ah! My Goddess and You're Under Arrest! i have other top favs but to list them all here would be too much!
If you include the mangas for the series as well then by far Ah! My Goddess is my absolute favourite!
