I admit that's true about kung-fu. It is a very powerful art to be sure. The thing about kung fu and karate is that it relies on a succession of moves that are repititious in form and require much skill in order to be successful, also, they rely on a lot of powerful punches, mostly due to the fact they were trying to punch through the bamboo armor of enemy soldier's back then. Bruce lee saw the need for change which caused him to develop JEET KUNE DOO. Where basically, moves are cut down so that energy is not wasted and your enemy is subdued quickly. The reason ninjutsu appealed to me was yeah, it's cool. But also since the ninja were basically special forces of their time. They needed to be fast at armed and unarmed combat in order to save their lives and run. I'm not a violent person by nature, but I have to admit if you have to fight, you NEED to win, especially if your fighting for your life, and ninpo is basically a no-nonsense-get -the- job-done-and-get-out art. The history and culture of the ninja is also very interesting, because unlike the cinema's version of the ninja. They were NOT a bunch of cold-blooded assassins. But they WERE good at what they did. Still kung-fu is cool, I like Jackie Chan.
