i think modern art is pretty cool, abstract art too! ^^ having a tub in a museum might sound really wierd and stupid, but i think it's cool. lol!

i cant believe ppl would pay money to buy and see these "works of art" where essentially it is just a pile of rubbish LITERRALLY! some artist just arranged a pile of garbage on the floor and called it his masterpiece! crazy!

I think..whats best is...depends on what people think of the abstract art.....

my personal experience with abstract art was not a good one. I once took art class in school in a hope to one day becoming an animator (imagine if i can get to work on my fav animes!), however the course was all abstract art stuff and the teacher was a right b#tch, needless to say i didnt do very well in my exams. my Art grade is the one stain in my final grades scores during school.

well you know.... it's pretty normal that your teacher made you work essentially on abstract art during your art classes.... anime/manga art isn't precisly "Art" in our western society... i mean, your teacher made you work on abstract art probably essentialy to test your ablity to "read" art.... of course, you can only dislike it if you close your mind on it... i'm not saying you're narrow minded, that's far from my intention, i just think that, if you really wanted to become animator, you would've coped with it to begin with, and with time, you would've learned tons of stuff (i don't have any example though... ^^') about not only abstract art, but also classical, baroc, etc....

no, its not becos she made us work, we expected that, its just that her personality is just a b#tch. alot of the other students dont like her, and she looks down on ppl all the time. she is these posh pompous types if u know what i mean.

lol! i've had a teacher like that too.... -_- (latin teacher.... ewwwww!!!!! i hate that teacher) i had to cope with her during 3 years... though even with that i learned a lot of interenting stuff about the Roman everyday life and so on.
though... even if you hate the teacher, that should make you hate the subject (like my philosophy teacher, a real stupid head to be polite, he made me hate philosophy.... because i hate him ^^') it's really sad because the subjet can be really interenting...

Heh...hence why I dislike French. Stupid teachers. But even with something I really love, like History or Dutch, the teacher doesn't really change it. It really depends on how annoying the teacher is.

I really wish I still had an art class, though. I loved art.

yea T_T *had to stop art slasses when she entered high school* it was always my favorite class... even with a stupid teacher... oh well...

a teacher can make you hate his/her subject is he/she's really a pain, and if he/she doesn't have the right teaching method.... and THAT's a pain....

for art classes...I wouldnt know about a bad teacher because i never had a bad teahcer for art...because all my art teachers are SUPER DUPER NICE! ^_^
