Very interesting stuff! And lion is right, Fujishima successfully borrows aspects and characters from *all* religions, both ancient and current, to create his own version of heaven and its denizens. So far I'd have to say he most heavily borrows from Norse mythology (though I haven't read a great deal of the manga, so I could be wrong), but even then, he only borrows names most of the time, and occasionally rank or power. I particularly like it when he uses it as metaphor, such as Gungnir, the spear of Odin in mythology, being a giant laser from heaven.
