Um, I'm not dissing what you say simply because I have a different opinion that you. I just call them like I see them. Kei is a bit too spineless for his own good, especially at first. In time, he got past that somewhat, just as Keiichi did (Keiichi was also far too spineless for his own good at first).
Don't get me wrong... all characters have faults, and I think bringing those up in a discussion of that character is perfectly valid. Kei is too passive. Keiichi is not open enough with his feelings until he's forced to confront them. Maiku is, well, honestly, he's a jerk. Even Belldandy is a bit to naive. Tenchi is too indecisive (come on, how could he NOT pick Ryoko). The list goes on and on. That doesn't mean they are a bad character, but those faults are part of who they are and can add a lot of depth to a series. The problem is, many times that fault causes the character to act in ways that are unbelievable. Would any real person just sit there while someone was talking about plans to put the moves on their wife??? To top it off, he then proceeded to act like a jerk to Mizuho, increasing the chances of such a seduction succeeding.
Just because I'm not fawning over a character that you really sympathize with does not make my analysis of that character a personal attack on you. If you view it as such, you should skip over my posts because I'm not going to lie and say "I think Kei Kusanagi is the greatest character ever!" when I don't really think that. This is a discussion with a variety of different opinions. A thread should not be an initial post and then 50 post saying "You're absolutely right," "I agree," or "Yeah."
