Don't really know where they could go with it...
It was what it was... the story of their high school life together. I don't know... I thought it was perfect the way it was, and although it was short and sweet, that's the way it should be. The point of it was (not that there was really a point, actually, I guess my point is) you have experiences in you life and then you move on. Yeah, that can be sad, but that's life. Despite the wackiness and zaniness of the series, you watched these girls grow up. The "bowing" scenes (I'm not giving away anything more than that) were really heartfelt.
Azumanga Daioh: The Next Generation or Azumanga Daioh: The further adventures of Chiyo-chan are about the dumbest ideas I could ever imagine. Even if they did it, I'd have absolutely no interest in it. This is one of those rare instances where they got it right and ended the story where they should have.
