What do those markings on Belldandy's face stand for?

that is assuming the markings are an indication of ones power.

But it seems like everyone has a different symbol on their head. The only thing that seems to remain the same for everyone are the two markings on their cheekbones.

Oh thank you ^-^! I think this question may have been asked or certainly discussed, but what happens when Keichi gets to old?

i dont think that issue will really be raised in the anime or manga because if Keiichi gets old then the whole theme of things is gonna be spoiled. Belldandy doesnt age at all since she's a goddess.

for real, if Keiichi does get old, he would probably collect his pension and be entitled to senior citizen benefits from the Japanese government! LOL :bg:

yeah, by the time he gets old, the series will be over. 'cause you know, who wants to read about a 60 year old? ^^;

I think Belldandy would choose to age along with him, or at least appear to do so. After all, it has been established that her body on earth is just a projection of her true self.

One thing that has always bothered me was the age of the Goddess that they seem to age at the same scale as Humans with respect at least to their childhoods.

The thing that threw me off about the ages is I thought they were ageless beings (what many commonly associate with gods/goddesses - maybe I just suck :embr:). Then there are those things Urd keeps telling Skuld... something along the lines of "Maybe in another hundred years..."
*snaps* Back on topic, the markings are such neat designs. Reminds me of Kite/Shugo from .hack. I swear his markings had some sorta meaning.

A common theme in Sci-Fi and fantasy are extremely long-lived or immortal races that age normal until they reach maturity and then stop aging or it slows down a lot. This could explain it.

Another potential explanation could be taken from "Sandman." Gods and goddesses are immortal, but are "reborn" every so often.

intresting theory, It means the gods might not even have mothers, family would consist of those in you reborn generation group...
