Haven't got a clue about how to contact Yukirin-san, I'm afraid.

In a fic I'm writing I make the signs sort of 'inheritable'. The six-pointed star with Hild and then the triangles of Urd made me think about it. I mean, both Belldandy and Urd have a marking that consists of straight lines; the markings on the side of her face are even triangles too. Skuld would seem different about that, but I would assign the 'hole' in her marking to the fact that she's still in training, so not yet grown up. To add to that you could say that while making the markings from regular Goddesses, besides the Valkyries, in straight lines, the markings on Skuld's face could become straighter. Meh, maybe I'm making this too complicated.

hmmm, I like the water drop idea, I wonder if the symobls are a respresentation of 'your license level' because the goddesses talk about how you have to earn ur goddess license, so are the symobls on their heads like cards to prove your status and what ur capable of, kinda like a drivers license?

actually its interesting you mentioned driver's licenses there.
Did you know that the goddess class system was inspired by the Japanese drivers license class system when Kosuke Fujishima created the manga.

Thats really cool K1, i always suspected that something had inspired the class system, what i would like to know is wherew he got those amzing idea, such as the Goddess system being very computerized rather then all magic, i kinda liked that idea because it brought more substance to the show making it seem more realistic rather then a quick fix with spells ^-^

i dont know how Mr Fujishima came up with the idea of Yggdrasil, maybe he just has a very good creative mind!
other bits i know include that the character Tamiya's name is of a model hobby company, Fujishima is an avid model hobby fan.

Actually, the names of almost all of the members of the autoclub are the names of model companies in Japan. Anyway...

Here's my take on the whole marking things...

The marks on their cheeks are simply to denote that they are a diety. That is why Chrono, Ere, and X have those.

Belldandy, Urd, Skuld, and Peorth all have a mark on their forehead. This is because all four of them operate on the mortal plane. During the "Lord of Terror" arc in the manga, several interesting facts were revealed about the markings. First, they are obviously a ranking system. For example, when Urd "turns to the dark side," her triangle seperates into two slashes, just like Mara's symbol. Furthermore, it may be that the number of sides to the symbol symbolizes power level. Belldandy and Peorth, as goddesses First Class, both have 4 sides to their symbol. Urd has 3, and so does Skuld. This fits with the movie, since Celestine, who was Belldandy's mentor had 6! The Earth Spirit's encounter with a Mara possessed Megumi also bears out this theory, since he knew what Mara was as soon as he saw her forehead marking.

Secondly, their emblems are their connection to the power flow provided by Yggdrasil. They also function as limitters, as displayed by Bell breaking her seal and the symbol changing. After Yggdrassil crashed and Urd was becoming a little girl while Skuld was becoming an adult, Belldandy explains some of this.

Sorry for being so long winded.
