Art is not everything. The storyline and emotion involved is far more important, in which case the OAV takes the cake.
And sadly enough, the artwork is more welldone in the OAV even given the 10 year difference. (personal opinion of course)

And episode 3 season 2 raw just melts my heart as usual.
