The New Belldandy Ipod Comercials

it would seem i am outnumbered on this issue, (ahem) very well.
(K1 puts on his business suit)

Idealistic views aside, its time to talk business, it would seem that they are striking while the irons hot. The release of the new A!MG TV series have re-galvanised the popularity of the A!MG franchise. Ipod needs such forms of publicity as the far east asian market is flooded with many similar MP3 devices. The Apple Ipod is quite simplistic compared to many other competitors in the market, in a far eastern market where functiionality is all the rave. Players from rivals such as IRiver are much more versatile. Statistical sales show....... blah blah blah (man i get enough of this from work, why the heck am i repeating it here!)

Wow take your time there Keiichi.

I think we all have a point here that is valid ^-^ Keiichik1 is right that Fujishima has the right to make an extra yen or two on his characters, because thats all they are. Keiichi-k1 also has a point that it seems silly that Belldnady is promoting ipods instead of something that relates to her character.

All in all, the economy is happy, Belldnady also advertised for A!MG and not just ipod, because her image is still produced, and the economy is happy ^-^

Ah, Keiichi-K1... you work? I trust that you hand your paycheck back, uncashed... wouldn't want you to sell out, now would we? Hehehehehe

Actually, Keiichi would be the best character to promote the iPod. He's a major techno-nerd, so he'd probably love to have one (with Carpenters songs downloaded off of iTunes). Skuld would just make her own.

One risk of expanding any franchise (let alone AMG) into any market is the loss of control that the creator has over his 'baby' so to speak, that in fact the new licencees may do something with that character, item, 'baby' that the creator may not have forseen, and if it is made available to view to the public before the creator can say anything then it is possible that by doing so the reputation and/or storyline of that creator/creation may be harmed.

Yeah, but after he trips, they could use a slogan like:

"iPod. Very cool... even if you aren't."

Yes, but then buying it would be an admittance of your uncoolness, and pathetic desire to be awesome by having an i pod.

K1 does Belldandy not deserve an ipod? Does she not deserve to hear and learn of earthly music?
I personally find the idea of bell using one to be a hoot, or a lark (like the mini-goddess series).
In addition, I do not see your point that this is selling out, Belldandy is an emotional person and often in the manga you can see her getting into current events i.e. any story involving a race, and how is this any different? Seeing her with a BMW bike does not make me want one, with an antic tea set does not make me want one, seeing her with an ipod. .ok I want one a little more now ;)

ps. any one found a dl for the add? love to see it..

i have to admit i want an ipod a little bit more now! ^^'
anything that has anything to do with Belldandy i would have to go for. ^^'
however i already have a very good MP3 player with a 30GB storage disk, i would've got myself an ipod if they werent so darn expensive!
But i think the best ones have got to be from IRiver, they can do almost anything, view pictures even play videos! my bros got one! ^^

Well when you think about it, she does promote Cocacola, the comic book is littered with Cocacola adds, so really Ipod isn't as bad ^-^

well its more of Keiichi who prootes it concidering he's the one that drinks it every time they sit at the table to talk ^-^

Either way ts in the AMG book ^-^

And the best way to show your displeasure, Keiichi-K1, is with your money, or rather by withholding such money by not making futher purchases of AMG products. I'm sure Fujishima-sama is crying all the way to the bank because he doesn't meet the expectations of some fans in a secondary market. I've said it before and I'll say it again, you're holding the man to an impossibly high standard, and it is unfair. Just because you have a conception of what AMG and the character of Belldandy should be does not mean that is the creator's conception, and his wins hands down.

If commercialization bothers you that much, do what Bill Waterson, creator of Calvin and Hobbes, did. He came up with his own characters, told their stories, kept ownership, and didn't do a bit of licensing other than the collections (if you ever see a stuffed "Hobbes" teddy-bear(tiger) or Calvin and Hobbes coffee mug, it is illegal).

If Fujishima-sama wants to have his characters advertising products, that is within his rights. Lest you forget, the whole idea for Ah! My Goddess originated in.... wait for it.... an ADVERTISEMENT.
