What's the name of the tree? I saw some of them in pictures of Japan too.

Well, that depends. I am a horticulture nerd and let me tell you....heheh---a nerd to the core about this stuff!

I have the movies and many popular anime. The trees you are describing could be any of these: Any species of cherry tree. Cherries can come in white, pink, red, peach and all kinds of bi-colors between those. There are single and double blossomed ones and the japanese are famous for their cherry blossoms every year. They even have a festival.

The other tree it could be is somethig called the tulip tree. The blossoms are pink and they resemble the cup shape of a tulip.

If you mean the trees with the petals that are always falling in the air (like on the first chapter of omg ova in moonlight and cherry blossoms) you are talking about the wonderful regualr cherry tree.

well it's the national tree of japan as far as i know cherry blossom so i must say it must be that no?!? in all theyears i've watched manga in every series cherry blossoms have to make an appartition!! ^_^

^_^ Ive got a cherry blossom tree in my garden ..... dident blossom good this year about 10 flowers came out and that was it. =/
Tho its nice when it gets a good blossom on its and they fly around in the wind :)
