yes that's a good thing to do, i keep a dream diary. the better your dream recall the better your chances of having a lucid dream.
also, i find the "wake-back-to-bed" technique to be effective: you set your alrm clock to go off 4 or 5 hours after you fall asleep. when you wake up in the middle of the night, stay awake for 45 minutes to an hour, but really try to wake up. taking a jog is probably the best thing to do, or eat a snack (but nothing with caffeine). also, if you had a dream before the alarm went off, record it in a journal. then go back to bed and sleep for 3 or 4 more hours. during this time it is much eaiser to induce a lucid dream.
Don Juan's technique works well for me to. right before you go to bed, look at your hands and say to your self "when i am dreaming I will look at my hands and know that I am dreaming" a few times. in a dream, if you are dreaming in a first person point of view and you get a glimpse of your hands, you will most likely remember yourself saying that and you've done it.
those two techniques work best for me. but don't get too excited if you do it. once i managed to achieve lucidity and i became so exited i woke up XD
someone here try it and let us know how it goes. if you can't do it the first night try again, it takes practice. if you want to dream about belldandy, first induce a lucid dream, then focus your thoughts on meeting bell and she should show up.
