Just to take this back to the "soulmate" subject for a moment:
I believe there is more than one kind of soulmate for each person. There is the main one, the major one, the one and only true love, the other half. That is the soulmate that plays the largest and most obvious role *as* a soulmate. But there are other kinds as well.
There are soulmates who are there solely to teach you, and then move out of your life. They deliver major lessons, possibly under the guise of your enemy, but the lessons they teach change who you are and make you more complete.
Then there are soulmates who *you* teach lessons to. The people you teach are better for knowing you, and you are more complete for passing on your wisdom.
And finally, there are soulmates for companionship and comfort; friends sent to you in your times of need. These can be a best friend, a pet, or the second wife of a widower. With all of these soulmates, you are more complete for knowing them...
So with that, another theory is that soulmates are actually parts of the *same soul* reuniting during a lifetime. That, no matter where each one originates, they are drawn toward one another, and their meeting is inevitible. Why do you think internet dating has such a good success rate? ^_~
