Generally i use gimp, or sometimes other programs

there are a lot of ways to make a .gif banner, i made mine in CorelRave

***whats a sig/banner?***

a signature represents yourself...you can use pics as your sig(look at k-roy and morohee's sigs), and you can also use links(like mine :E). If you are plannig to use pictures as signatures, remember to resize it right. Big pics can cause system downtime on the forum...

a banner on the other hand is also a signature. banners are used to advertise websites and other things in the net.

***How can you do it?***

first of all, go to 'My Home'

then click 'Edit Profile

now scroll it down until you see the signature. If you will use pics as a sig, put first ** (w/o the asterisks). afterwards, click 'Update Profile'.
