I own it, and have watched it. But yeah I agree with you that it has kinda slipped under the radar. It was a very interesting story, that got a lot more dramatic as it came to an end. Much like Geneshaft (one lone ship against an army) it was an anime where you just start to get to like a character and Bang! DOA. Still it kept the very unshakable point that the crew of the Amaterasu were putting their lives on the line for something they believed in and how they questioned those beliefs as their lives were lost.... Still 13 episodes was a bit short for it and they really could have drawn it out over another season to give a chance to develop some characters deeper before.... well.. the end....
