It was originally released on VHS... and speaking as someone who had the VHS tapes, it was top notch quality for the time. Robotech and the first release of Akira suffer from the same problems. I'd love to see a remastered edition, though.

they really should do a remastered version! maybe they can do a re-release special edition to complement the TV series DVDs when they come out!

AnimEigo would be the people to contact about that. They still hold the license to the OVA. An interesting note... the store where I buy my DVDs gets a couple of copies of the OVA in every few months, and they always sell them within a month or so...

remastered.....you mean that the movie in the VHS is converted to VCD/DVD?

no, we mean that the of course the original OVA right in the beginning was put on film, the material on the film is then converted into digital data to be cleaned up and repaired to be placed onto DVD. Ultimately the ova will then be held in a digital medium.

they'll most likely hold a few master copies on separate disks so even if the computer crashes one can rest assured that the data is safe.

I think if we really want to immortalize the AMG OVA and Movie... we should basically use a some sort of gold or platinum disk..... and then it can be kept for ages...XDXD

its ok when it is in a DVD or in the VCD. As long as you maintain it properly. That'll gonna live more longer....of even forever if you are too careful.

im not sure about VCDs, they're so grainy! DVD is the only acceptable format, the minimum standard.
Yes RAL they should put Ah! My Goddess onto a gold or platinum disc! Ah! My Goddess forever!

i always think VCD was never the format for putting movies on, the pictures are just too grainy or blocky, even a good VHS tape is better than a VCD at times!
