true you are still starring at an "untrue" image for extended periods of time. However, an LCD does not pout out nearly as much reflected light to pressure the corneas thus lessoning the total strain to the eye

what are u talking about reflected light? i mean u get reflected light everywhere dont u!?
im more on about the difference in radiation levels, with CRTs having the electron guns etc.

well we are basically using synonyms, however is the excess glare caused by a traditional CRT that is ultimately worse than a LCD

i dunno, im not an expert on the subject. However i just got a new flat LCD monitor at work, it seems so much more bright and light intensive than the CRT. im not sure if thats a good thing but i had to adjust to very low settings so that its less heavy on the eyes.

It is so strange how these threads evolve like they do! It is also cool to see what people are talking about!

I too find this interesting ^-^ However I have noticed wiht the plasma that you can watch it at any angle, I could be watching it from the side and i can still see the picture crystal clear, so is this do to igenious engineering, or imagery out put so that the eye is cpable of catchign ti at almost any angle?

has anybody else noticed that with some of the lcd computer screens the picture is not homogeneous throughout the screen? some areas seem brighter than others, i think i still prefer the CRT ones for the moment.

Yes actually i did notice that. i thought it was just my screen though. I find that it depends what angle the screen is on, then it looks fine ^-^

anyway, i wouldnt want to change my CRT monitor for a LCD one, unless they make them look like the CRTs.

(btw how did this thread evolve from one about Belldandy's sad expression to one about monitors? LOL)
