I've been playing it off and on since it came out, though I don't play online much since I can't micro things fast enough. :sheep: It was my first RTS, and still holds a place in my heart. I suppose if anyone was feeling up to an easy match they can challenge me:p, but I'm not expecting too much activity from this thread.

Anyone else enjoy playing it still, and what are your thoughts on Starcraft 2 coming out? Some extra links:

Amazingly enough, I found english commentary for Starcraft League matches in korea:o I was also surprised to find them interesting. I really need to find that job now. x| (Klazart still rules though)

Starcraft is already one of the Korean's culture. Most of them play them madly, and some of them play Starcraft for their life as a job! They can earn 2-3 millions US dollars a year as tournament players. But I don't think it's a good job, because they have to retire at the ages around only 30+ (by the slower playing speed, no match with the younger). And what could they do after that?, since their developing ages were already consumed by the practice of Starcraft (have to play about more than 12 hours a day).
I still wonder what would happen when the Starcraft 2 release. However, I'll play it, too! q^ ^p

It was a bit bizarre seeing arenas filled to watch pro Starcraft players duke it out, but I don't mock it the way others do. Though it obviously doesn't quite compare to athletics, from a spectator standpoint watching two guys play a computer game at high level isn't all that different from watching a bunch of overpaid folks run around on a field and hit each other:p (note I mean as far spectating, not overall effort) Either way you are watching people who have taken something they enjoyed, got really good at it, and compete against other people who are better at what they do than most for money.

2-3 million bucks a year until they're 30? If they were smart and invested, I'll tell ya what they can do after: Retire and never have to work a day again in their lives. :p

I'm sure something athletes and cyber-athletes share is a lack of restraint when it comes to money:p Something to keep in mind though is that in Korea all men must serve for at least 2 years in the military, which can seriously put you out of form once you can play again regularly. (ie. Boxer, the Terran Emperor)

Well, It's just what I know from Discovery Channel and PC-Gamer magazine... :(

I had once played one of the Starcraft MOD (probably the first one). It's called "Gundam Century". It's not a stable MOD, so what happen is that it's the battle between Earth Federation, Zeon and Zerg !!! The Zerg units become giant compare to Mobile suits. I can't beat the campaign with this MOD, because those Mobile suits and Mobile armors are no match to this original Starcraft faction (BIG Zerg). :o
