interesting question coolcole999, but if one just watches a story to just know the ending then it wouldnt be any fun. i mean in the Ah! My Goddess movie when we first watch it we know there is gonna be a happy ending but we still watch it dont we?

Or put more poetically...

It is not the destination, but the journey.

One doesn't read a story knowing that it will be happy, but one does read it to observe the hardships and trials of the story's characters which ultimately come to an end; whether it be happy or sad. If there was just an ending then it wouldn;t be much of a story, would it? :)

And we all know AMG is full of hardships. :bg:

I am not trying to discount the hardships or the quality of the story I'm mealy saying it would truly be tragic if in the end there was well... an end an end to the relationship, to the love to what made it so great in the beginning, Allwell I guess I'm one of those people that when he steps out his door he want to know were he is going... but that doesn’t stop me from taking the scenic route either

That's one of the reasons I kinda hope Keiichi is immortal.

A creative writing professor of mine in college once said "If you want a happy ending to your story, you have to end it early. Any story you carry on long enough has to end in death."

That statement doesn't necessarily apply to "Ah! My Goddess."

Furthermore, I take hope in the fact that Fujishima-sama seems to be a fan of happy endings. Also, he truly seems to love these characters. He's been doing Ah! My Goddess for over 10 years now, so it may never end as long as he's alive.

and also if Fujishima-san decides to retire or anything, hopefully the torch will be passed on so that future generations will be able to experience new stories and adventures of Ah! My Goddess, it will work out good for us too! :bg:
if all else fails, there's always me! :bg: , i will keep on loving Belldandy forever!

nah... I'd rather have it end before I do...

Nothing lasts forever, and I wouldn't want anyone to do it other than Fujishima-sama. I hope that the end isn't for a long time, but there should definitely be an end. Otherwise things would get stale and repetative... there's still a lot of story left in AMG, I just would not want to see it become another "Star Trek:TNG" where the francise is more important than the characters and their development. If it ever gets to the point where there is no character development and a magic reset button at the end of each issue so that nothing ever changes, I'll stop reading.

i'd hate to see AMG go stale like star Trek, but I think the series will continue for quite some time yet so...

still, closure can be a good thing, for example if the AMG story does end, i can look at all my mangas and DVDs and say "i have the complete AMG story in my possession!"

there is something about knowing that you have all there is of something there at your fingertips. I guess in a way that feeling is what makes the Internet such a phenomenon

well,......... not quite what i had in mind ^^' but that's still an interesting idea coolcole! however we mustnt forget that the internet opens us up to many dangers as well, its a very powerful tool, more than some people realise, and it can be used for good and also for evil.

Any tool can have it turned for evil, often is how we define evil that turns out to be impotent. There are those that a malicious in their use of the net to ruin peoples lives and happiness. Then their are those that download martial (a continued gray area in legal terms). On separate occasions I have even Heard that conversations as benign as this one were "evil" due to the fact that it is a "false" medium of conversation ( no actual contact, ad the readability of a pretender) simply because this an electronic forum.

However, ultimately the net is a great thing. Nearly any information or Entertainment is at my disposal, and the worlds for that matter.

To me, the net is the place that makes different nationalities collide. For example, in this forum...we have different nationalities and we are talkin together here in this forum.
