well you never said you'd eat the hat you were wearing... do you not own any hat? and what i was tryint to point out,(and didnt really manage to) was that although i have access to the entire series, I don't have the desire to finish it.... i wasn't hooked. It was watchable, much like Stargate SG1... but not something i'd go borrow from my friend, 5 minutes walk away.

Starfleet not a military organization? Please... they fly around in ships with weapons on them, wear uniforms, have ranks, and take orders. You don't get much more military than that... a stupid military, yes, but a military nonetheless.

The real root of Starfleet's problems around the time of the next generation is that they ARE the military force of a society that thinks it is so enlightened they don't need a military, and it shows. They've become wimps. I mean please... they put families on their flagship. That was just stupid. Kirk understood that there was a time for diplomacy and a time to kick alien butt. That's why the klingon word for defeat is K'rk! Picard just baldly goes where no one wants to go!

yes but the Police force also wears uniforms, take orders and in some countries carry weapons but you wouldnt call the police a military would you? unless its in some fascist (i hate them!) state or something.

Hmm, as to starfleet ( joining in on wanderig fromthe topic here rofl), they are the result of a confederation of species, or races if you prefer, each with their own views and beliefs. So Starfleet has multiple jobs. They serve as police/law enforcement (aka search and rescue that sort of thing as one of their roled, they handle exploration (Still dangerous business even with all their tech) and finally they act as a self-defense force. The thing with that is that you get quite a bit of various outlooks of what should be the primary focus and how it should be accomplished.
For example I don't think that anyone would really consider Riker as suave and sophisticated a diplomat as picard. But then again Ryker isn't quite as trigger happy as kirk was either. Partly it's the environment. During TNG, the federation were on good or equitable terms with their neighbors, yet as far as families on tehir flagship, yeah, families. But also weapon systems that if they were actually used in sucha fashion they could level cities in a matter of seconds. ("Fire! Firing sir! Confirm target destroyed.) But I also happen to be a fan of B5 and even liked Excalibur too. Well mostly. lol

I think that Keichii, will probably have a normal perhaps extended lifespan (through meddling), and then Belldandy will have to make some tough choices. If the God(dessess) in the setting can be "reborn" will keichi? After all Forever is forever.

K-1 is a very neat character, in most respects. I mean, he's totally human and everything, but he's also compassionate and caring for others. How many college students do you know who are like this _all the time_? I mean, I think Keiichi is definately special in that way.
Is he immortal though? He could become immortal. In fact, it could be translated that since he's staying with Belldandy _forever_ that he's probably going to be immortal.
I think he should be a mini-god. Like an angel or something. He deserves it.

It has never been a question of deserving it, just like it has never been a question about the love between K and Bell...
It is just troublesome worrying if ultimately their will be a happy ending
