Wow, 20 times?!? That's about as many times as my sister changes each day. ^_^; She's such a fashion diva. I'd imagine there's a lot more Bell can do now than she could do at the beginning of the series... not only has she had time to acclimate herself to earth and the way things work there, she now has Keiichi's love to boost her powers. ^_^

the power limitations of goddesses was introduced really early on in the manga, but i think Fujishima-san saw that by having it it would really limit the things he can do with the story, therefore i think it was gradually phased out. Not that im complaining.

It hasn't been phased out, but the number of times it is an issue as decreased. Belldandy has been on earth for a while, so she's gotten more used to the power restriction and so forth (it has been established that she doesn't need a seal in Heaven). The more she uses her powers on earth, the more efficient she becomes with them.

To use a real world example, when you start a new job, most tasks take a lot of effort. In time, as you learn more and more about the job and how things work, the same tasks take less and less effort. Eventually, things that would take you a lot of time and effort to do become simple, quick fixes. My guess would be that Belldandy's use of her powers is the same.

Yup! I'd have to agree with that. It seems like the most natural explanation.

Like writing a computer program, which is actually the best analogy. It has been established that Belldandy casts spells in Yggdrasil "Code Speech". My guess is that she usually hides these in poetry. Now, because of her seal, she is only allocated so many "Clock cycles" on Yggdrasil per day. Once she has used those "cycles", she gets booted (out of power), until she can reestablish a connection (wake up). Some programmers will write longer programs that use more clock cycles. A more experienced programmer can write a much shorter program that will do the same things and more, but take less of those cycles.

She also uses Holy Bell and natural spirits a lot more these days (kinda like a math co-processor on an old 386), so she doesn't have to use as many of her allocated cycles. She may have gotten an upgraded seal as well that allows her more cycles when she got her license renewed.

All just a metaphor though :)

i agree you become more proficient at a job the longer you work at it and become quicker. unless your job involves working with a lot of people like in customer service or policeowrk or teaching etc

Even in customer service, experience makes things a lot easier. You learn what questions to ask, what the common issues are, how to work the cash register or whatever. Like the old saying goes, "Age and experience will always beat youth and exuberance."

Well, actually, I'm a network administrator. I do a lot of programming, but it is very specialized and in a proprietary language for a particular application, so it isn't like C or Assembly. I can't get more specific than that for various reasons, sorry. Other than this one language, I have NO programming abilities. However, I do work in the computer field, so I know most of the basics. Yggdrasil is the computer that runs the world, so it helps to look at things from that perspective once in a while.
