memoirs of geisha is now showing in philippine theaters, it is a live movie

It'll be coming out in a couple of days here in Belgium. I'm really looking forward to it - I've planned on reading the book very often, but I never really brought myself to buy a copy.

this movie is sure big-time...it gained 9 awards, i think...

I haven't watched it yet..
but can anyone tell me if it is too dramatic?
or too surreal?

as to the actors and actresses not being japanese, i think a bunch of them are but a few of the main characters are really Chinese. who cares though? i saw a shakespear film and one of the actors was black (which is NOT likely in the old days of England), but it was still an awesome movie!

Hmm... i was just wondering, because it is futher damage to japanese cultue by american companies (who seem to want to send anime back to Japan via poor distbation so they can replace it with thrash!)

I'm waitn til the movie comes out on dvd.Ken Watanabe is a very good actor & one of my fav Japanese actors.

i loved it so much right after i saw it i bought it.
