Because, as stated in the manga, the Belldandy we see on earth is not her true form... it is just a 3 dimensional recreation of her 10 dimensional form. Furthermore, it is constantly being regenerated at a subatomic level (she can even stop this regeneration temporarily, which causes her to fade out). It has also been established that earth medicine does not work on her, and booze doesn't effect her (and alcohol is involved in the begining of lots of pregnancies).

It was also somewhat established that goddesses don't have, um, the monthlies. Which is lucky for K1... women living together tend to get their cycles in synch... with all of them having goddess powers, PMS would definitely be a killer!

Logically though, they can't have children. I doubt K1 has realized that yet, and it may be one of the reasons why Bell looks sad once in a while. I can see her wanting to bear a child for him.

If Fujishima-sama does go into it, it will probably be one of the most heartrending stories ever told in a manga.

i see,..............., well who knows maybe miracles can happen and Belldandy and Keiichi can start a family together. Ah! My Goddess is about never giving up hope and miracles. There has always been many twists and turns in the manga.

Well, it could happen if either:

a) Belldandy gives up her powers and becomes completely human, or
b) Keiichi becomes a god.

I like the second choice, and there has been some hinting from Fujishima-sama in that direction.

Keiichi becoming a god! now that would really be something! but im not all too sure about it though, i mean if Keiichi becomes a god then that would mean the end the Ah! My Goddess theme of "ordinary earth guy meets goddess" which is one of the main things that makes Ah! My Goddess so good.

Yeah, but it could also be a way of saying if we never give up, we can become extrodinary. That being a good and decent person carries rewards, even if we don't always see them or expect them.

you have a valid point there, but i like to think that no matter what or who you are, love will transcend all boundaries. Keiichi is a human and Belldandy is a goddess yet they can still be together and love one another to me that is more romantic and magical than Keiichi becoming a god.

Sorry Larry, it seems taht most of my posts are in disagreement to yours! but that is just my opinion.

Hey, that's cool... I don't mind if people disagree with me, as long as they can back up their ideas, which you do.

However, the manga gives more and more evidence that Keiichi is no mere mortal as time goes on... although some of that hasn't been published in English yet (and I'll try to avoid spoilers). That we can be better than we ever imagined we could be if we just have faith in ourselves and others seems to be at the heart of Ah! My Goddess.

Holybell84 - yes, and an even earlier conversation with Peorth. It remains to be seen what Dark Horse will do with the translation, but the literal translation raises many more questions than it answers. Also, the who arc with the Machiners (I'll say no more than that) raises some questions too.

Melichan - Thanks for the kind words.... I've been a fan over 10 years, so I'd hope I have some idea what I'm talking about ^-^
