well said Melichan! yes, the Belldandy pacifist way is the way forward! come to think of it most of my discipline in everyday life is based on pacifism.

Alas, Belldandy most certainly is NOT a pacifist. She has fought many times to protect those she loves. She does not like fighting, but she has fought before, and most likely will again. It is her last resort typically, but it is a resort she will use.

pacifiscm doesnt mean you dont fight at all, you will have to take it to extremes for that to be true. i like to think pacifiscm avoids conflicts through any means possible but it doesnt mean you cannot defend urself or those u love.
one example is the country of Japan, well known for its pacifist stance but it still keeps a self-defence force.

Sorry, Keiichi-K1, but you're wrong. From the compact Oxford English Dictionary (online):

pacifism

• noun the belief that disputes should be settled by peaceful means and that war and violence are unjustifiable.

That doesn't mean "Violence is wrong, but throwing force bolts at Mara, well, that's a different story." Like I said, Violence is a step Belldandy has been shown as willing to resort to, hence, she is not a pacifist.

Well the hole Japan only has a defense force is a bit misleading. As part of the surrender after WWII the Nation of Japan became a United States Protectorate and lost the right to field an Army

The United States of America should withdraw all forces from Japan all-together what the heck do they think they're doing having military resources in somebody elses country anyway! one reason is taht they want to have "tactical" advantage points so that they can attack anyone they want! i think they have done enough, what about that time where that US military vehicle ran over that little Japanese girl! not so much as an apology! humph!

Actually, Japan and the US are allies... they are leasing the land for the military base in Okinawa to the US. Japan derives definite benefits from the relationship, such as money and deterrance to countries who may wish to attack them (such as China or North Korea). Although there was a forced military pressence after World War II (you know, when they pulled a sneak attack on the US, who was staying neutral), this has not been the case for many years.

As for the "running over a little girl" part, I don't remember that off the top of my head. Could you provide more specifics. Unless it was back in the late 40's/early 50's, I'd be willing to bet there was an apology.

the incident was a few years back, but i still remember it, the Japanese people were up in arms with banners and screaming for the departure of the US forces.
btw i know very well that the US and Japan are "allies" but that doesnt mean they have a right to stay there, the government may approve of it but the ppl may not, why do u think they have "Japanese Only" bars and clubs.

It is actually sometimes weird when you start laughing at something in real life, just because it reminds you of something you've seen in anime, but ah well, guess I'm weird.
