uhm.... if i had meant spanish i would have said spanish...
and latin isn't really a language from the middle age... it's muuuuuuch much older than that actually. it was the language used by the Roman during the Roman empire, and that was a few years before and after Christ.
but now spanish (and italian, french and portugese as a matter of fact) are latin languages... meaning the latin used in those regions evolved into the languages used nowadays, but are still latin based (origin of words etc)
yes there is a huge difference between latin and spanish :)
