Has anyone else seen this yet? I'm usually not a fan of martial arts anime, but the story line to this one is really gripping. The fights are really good, the animation style is excellent, and the characters are remarkably three dimensional (although the series can be a bit ecchi at times).

For example, in the first episode, I thought Souichiro would be just a jerk used to show how powerful Takayanagi is, but he turned out to be a very deep and interesting character. Every single episode I've watched has forced me to re-evaluate my opinions on all of the characters. I'm only up to episode 6, but that should change by this weekend. Anyone else have any opinions on this series?

I think it's good. Though not excellent just good.
The fight scenes are adequately laid out, though not precise and clean but sufficiently done.
The characters are great, however the focus isn't really on Souichiro, but I think it's really on Mutsomi, Aya and his brother.

There is good drama I have to say, though not really full of drama, the fight scenes do play some good fillers and it's rather enjoyable. :)

Rather violent it is, rated 18+.

Not in my top 10 favorites though. I'm a romantic drama fan. ^_^

I'd rate Tenjou Tenge 74%.

Tenjou Tenge is a brilliant anime! i love the gripping fight scenes and story, actually Souchiro takes a more supportive role than you think, mainly its about Maya and her friends in the past. I have to warn you the ending is a bit rushed though, but not to worry it continues in the sequel Tenjou Tenge: Ulitimate Fight!

I agree with K1.But it's on my buy list but has to wait til I finish a few series b4 I buy anything else.
