First End wasn't bad albeit it isn't written in pure Novel like form, and there are several meaningless re description of the characters again and again. The story was also quite predictable towards the end, but it was still quite heart wrenching (I read and finished it in 4-5 hours). I am wondering whether or not the novel is confirmed to be canon to Fujishima's A!MG or is it a non canon work?
