A very old friend of Belldandy, Welsper appears suddenly at the Morisato Residence one day. Despite the fact that this young boy knows Belldandy quite well, Belldandy has no recollection of him. What ensues introduces the concept of the Doublet System and results in a rather severe punishment for Welsper. The governing body of Hell chooses punishment to be reincarnation as a cat. For his love of Belldandy, he curses himself to retain consciousness and moves into the Morisato Residence. Following the Angel Eater Arc he receives and names a Devil of his own.
