Belldandy is the first of the Helper of the Goddess Office. She is simply lovely, honest, pure and gentle, with golden/light brown hair. Her forehead bears one of the characteristic goddess marks that look sort of like a long diamond. She uses mirrors as her means of transportation.

Norse Mythology
"Belldandy" is a modified form of Verthandi, the middle of the three Norns as well as the Norn of the Present. Verthandi was depicted as a matronly or mature woman looking straight ahead. Like her older sister Urd she was regarded as benevolent.
Verthandi is sometimes spelled as Verdandi but the former is the original spelling. Verdandi is the verb form of the Old Scandanavian word vertha, "to become."[less]
