- Angel - Guardian carried by gods and goddesses who have the ability to host one. Angels are meant to reflect the appearance of their host god or goddess. They show neverending loyalty to their hosts and protect them. They may also be used to cast stronger supportive and offensive spells.
- Banpei - Skuld's most famous creation. A robot, unintendedly infused with emotions and a will of its own, initially created to protect Belldandy but has also been built into other machines.
- Belldandy - First class goddess from heaven who bears the symbol of the present on her forehead. She is very kind and is always trying to make people happy. She sees it as her duty to make Keiichi Morisato happy.
- Camera lens - Peorth's transportation catalyst.
- Celestin - God from heaven. He used to be Belldandy's mentor. He was imprisoned as a lifeless being on the surface of the moon as a punishment and later broken free by Morgan the fairy princess.
F-J- Fenrir - Giant wolf summoned as a part of the ultimate desruction program. Fenrir inherited the title of "Lord of Terror" by sucking up Urd's energy.
- Four Wheels Club - Club erected by Aoshima to have the Motor Club disband.
- Gungnir - Heaven's ultimate weapon, used by Peorth against Celestin but was blocked by Belldandy.
- Hasegawa Sora - See Sora Hasegawa.
- Hokkaido - The most northern island of Japan. The Morisato family used to live here. Since Magumi moved out, only her and Keiichi's parents remain there.
- Holy Bell - Belldandy's angel.
- Hot liquid - Skuld's transportation catalyst. She has been known to use cold liquid as well in later parts of the manga and anime.
- Ice cream - Skuld's favourite food. It is also her alternative energy source.
K-O- K1 - Shorthand for Keiichi. The letter K is pronounced like "kei" while the Japanese word for one is "ichi". Together they make "Keiichi".
- Keiichi Morisato - Student at the Nekomi Institute of Technology. His looks prevent him from having good luck with girls. He dialled a wrong phone number on accident and got connected to the Goddess Assistance Agency after which he met Belldandy. He is very very strong-willed and kind-hearted person.
- Koshian - Buddhist Monk who used to live in the Tariki Hongan Temple. He has the propensity to jump to conclusions. After witnessing Belldandy sing with Holy Bell, he jumped to the conclusion that he had not yet attained full enlightenment like Belldandy, according to him, had. As a result, he sets out on a pilgrimage and leaves the temple to Morisato and Belldandy.
- Liquid - See Hot liquid
- Midgard - Vaccine created by heaven to counteract the Ultimate Destruction Program. Midgard comes in the shape of a giant snake with multiple heads. Midgard gets bitten while Fenrir is the Lord of Terror and gets infected and turned into the Lord of Terror instead.
- Midgard's flute - Flute created by heaven to summon the vaccine, Midgard. Midgard's flute is originally given to Skuld, along with an instruction manual, with the order to bring it to Belldandy. The flute has to be played by a first class goddess.
- Mirror - Belldandy's transportation catalyst.
- Moon bracelet - Bracelets made by Keiichi Morisato for wear by the goddesses to supply them with power while their link with Yggdrasil is broken.
- Morisato Keiichi - See Keiichi Morisato.
- Motor Club - Club that specializes in motor sports and in creating and repairing cars and motorbikes. It is said to have been founded by Chihiro but was later taken over by Tamiya and Otaki. In the manga, Morisato is the current Motor Club president.
- Nekomi Institute of Technology - University which Morisato and most of the other Motor Club members attend. It is often abbrebiated to NIT, or the "Neko" in "Nekomi" is sometimes substituted for by a picture of a small black cat, because neko is Japanese for "cat".
P-T- Rest - See Sleep.
- Sigel - A robot created by Skuld using an old mannequin in the shape of a young girl.
- Skuld - Belldandy's younger sister. A young goddess who does not have any talent for using magic but makes up for it by having brilliant insight in constructing machines. She bears the symbol of the future on her forehead. She is Yggdrasil's main system debugger. Skuld often tries to separate Morisato and Belldandy to have Belldandy's attention for herself.
- Sleep - Belldandy's alternative energy source.
- Sleipnir - Eight-legged horse from heaven. Urd rode Sleipnir when she was young to get medicine for Belldandy. Sleipnir also appeared on Earth in the Tariki Hongan Temple while it was infested with bugs.
- Sora Hasegawa - A shy member of the Motor Club. She is often bullied and gets called a "kindergarten student". It is often hinted that this is because of her chest. She is also exceedingly bad at cooking. This earned her the title "Chef Murderer" in secondary school. Despite this, she is a very kind and caring person.
- Tariki Hongan Temple - Buddhist temple that used to be in habited by Koshian. Keichii now lives there with the three goddesses, Banpei, Sigel and the three ninja masters.
U-Z- Ultimate Destruction Program - Program designed for the purpose of turning Earth into a demon world. It has several requirements to be initiated. Urd, at some point in the series, initiates the program and summons Fenrir.
- Urd - Belldandy's stubborn and impulsive older half-sister. Her mother is the Daimakaicho, Hild. She bears the symbol of the past on her forehead. She inherited the title of Lord of Terror at one pount in the story. Urd is the most powerful of the three sisters. She is a second class goddess with a limited licence. She controls the elements of fire and lightning respectively.
- Whirlwind - [1.] The racing machine used in the movie by Morisato and Belldandy (and Morisato and Morgan, at some point) which is supposed to go in a race for mixed gender drivers. [2.] The name of the shop that sells motorcycle and car parts in the manga. It was opened by Chihiro.
- World Of Elegance - Urd's angel, due to Urd's mixed blood World Of Elegance, unlike other angels, has one black and one white wing.
- Yggdrasil - Heaven's main computer. It is used to control Earth. Celestin at one point infects Yggdrasil with a virus.
